Obituary of EDWIN JAMES YEE

EDWIN JAMES YEE December 31,1948- April 21,2017 It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Edwin Yee. Edwin was born in Winnipeg in 1948, and raised by wonderful parents, James and Elsie Yee, who taught him to be a loving, considerate, generous and respectful man. As a passionate environmentalist, he spent over 45 years working in the environmental field; the Manitoba Government, Manitoba Hazardous Waste Corp, UMA Engineering and The Clean Environment Commission. He loved all aspects of his career whether in the lab, field or office. Most of all, he enjoyed the comradery with all the amazing people that he worked with over the years. Even though his travels took him to many places, he loved Manitoba the most. Edwin, especially enjoyed the summers at the cottage with his family at Pinawa Bay where he spent much time hiking and fishing with his many dogs over the years. He loved all seasons and spent much time outdoors photographing the many beautiful areas of the province. He had a love for photography and never went anywhere without a camera. As a physically active person, he took great satisfaction in his daily mile swims, cycling treks, and time rollerblading at Kildonan Park. He loved all genres of music and filled his home with the sounds of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven on a daily basis. He loved The Rolling Stones and often planned family holidays around the Stones concert. Edwin was devoted animal lover, and he considered himself fortunate to volunteer at the Winnipeg Humane Society. He was happy to own many furry friends over the years. Edwin will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Wanda, son Keith (Rachelle) and daughter Angela (Michael). A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11 am. at St. Francis Anglican Church, 253 Burrin Avenue. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to your favourite charity or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
