Obituary of NETTIE YAKIMOVICH
NETTIE YAKIMOVICH September 6, 1921 - March 15, 2017 Nettie passed away peacefully in her 95th year. Survived by sons, James (Diana) and Terry (April), grandchildren, Ben (Kim), Shannon (Brian), Carrie (Bojan), Cindy and Jeffrey, great-grandchildren Adrian and Claire, sisters Doris, Helen (Bill), and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband John, and son Anthony, mother Ksenia, and sisters Mary and Anne. Nettie grew up in the Steinbach area, losing her father at a young age; surviving with her mother and sisters through difficult times served to strengthen her religion and resolve. Moving to Winnipeg after the war Nettie married, raised three children, and had a career with Municipal Hospitals. Health issues hampered Nettie, limiting her mobility, she loved her family, animals and life. Sadly missed. Funeral service was held on Friday, March 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St Interment, Holy Family Cemetery.
