Obituary of MICHAEL ANTHONY HAMULKA

MICHAEL ANTHONY HAMULKA December 17th, 1956 - July 8th, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael. His struggle with Bile duct cancer was short and merciful. He leaves to mourn his wife Candace of 28 years, their daughter Annastasia (Stacey) (Milos), stepson Mathew Brown (Kama) three granddaughters, Genevieve, Aria and Ellie, and nephew Daniel Spencer. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Jean. Michael grew up in Elmwood, and attended Miles Mac Collegiate and the University of Winnipeg. He worked with Canada Post, Canada Revenue Agency, and Andrews Street Family Centre as an Outreach worker. His passion was sports. He loved watching the NHL cheering for his favourite team, the Boston Bruins. Football, it was the Washington Redskins. Football was in his blood. So much so that he took ownership of Ultimate Touch Football League. He made many friends in football, who shared his passion. They would argue, laugh and play hard. Michael enjoyed travelling. As a family we went to Edmonton, Jamaica, Disney Land and a Caribbean Cruise. At other times it was a week in Phoenix, a week in LA, Boston, San Francisco, San Diego, Puerto Vallarta. Montreal, Vancouver and two awesome treks to Italy with great friends. When I look back on his life, I realize that he fulfilled many of his dreams. Content with what he had. Thank you for the support that our family has received during this difficult time. The nurses and staff at St. Boniface Hospital were a blessing. Celebration of Life will be on July 15, 2016 at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street at 2:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancercare Manitoba or Winnipeg Humane Society.
