LARRY GEORGESON

Obituary of LARRY GEORGESON

LARRY GEORGESON With profound sadness, on Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Larry fell asleep in death. Larry is survived by his loving wife Rose; daughter Rachelle; sister Muriel (Ralph); brothers Jim (Anaam), Robert (Gwen), Lorne (Diane) and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his parents Art and Jenny Georgeson. Larry enjoyed life and had many interests and talents. He could be described as a skilled craftsman, not only did he work on stately homes but he volunteered his time with the Regional Building Committee constructing Kingdom Halls in Manitoba and Western Ontario. He had keen perception that enabled him to design things to benefit others, for example from a photo he built electric wheel chair lifts for vans. The hoist was of factory quality and function. This interest in design led him to dwell on our Creator and creation. With the help of his parents and grandparents he put spiritual interests first. He was baptized at the age of 12 and since that time was active in sharing his faith with others in the public ministry. He was an elder with the West Kildonan and The Maples Congregations and by his patience, kindness and love encouraged and helped many. As a family we benefited from his spiritual heritage. We were able to travel to different areas of the world even to the South Pacific to attend international conventions. These were happy family times of meditation and appreciation for our Creator. These times reassured him of the prospect of everlasting life on a paradise earth as promised in the Bible. Psalm 37:11 “The meek themselves will possess the earth”. The latter part of verse 29 which reads “and they will reside forever upon it”. We miss him very much, however our hope is strong and we have deep trust in God’s promise of a resurrection as found at John 5:28, 29 and therefore find great comfort in knowing we will see Larry again. Special thanks to the Seven Oaks Hospital ICU for their diligence and hard work. A Memorial Talk will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall Centre, 227 Lakewood Blvd., Winnipeg, Manitoba. He will be missed with great sorrow and sadness but not forgotten.
