Obituary of STEPHEN DOROZ

STEPHEN DOROZ September 29, 1915-November 24, 2013 Peacefully on Sunday November 24, 2013, Stephen Doroz passed away in his sleep at the age of 98 at Deer Lodge Centre T7 veteran's ward. He was predeceased by his wife Anne in 2012, his brother William and sister Anne. Steve leaves behind his children Carol, Bob (Eileen), and Dianna (Bill), grandchildren Melanie (Corey), Billy (Melody) and great-granddaughter Celecia. Steve was a veteran of WWII and was proud to have served his country. He enjoyed boxing and did so as a middle weight prior to and during his time in service. Steve took early retirement from the post office at age 62, which gave him time to enjoy family and friends, and pursue his interests. He attended Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church and volunteered with the church perogy-making group. Steve played the accordion and enjoyed dancing, especially the polka. He was an avid cook, checker player, gardener, photographer and took art lessons from his son in his retirement with great enjoyment. Right up to the day of his passing Steve's mind was amazingly sharp and he always enjoyed sharing stories from his past. The family is very thankful to the staff for their care and friendship that made Deer Lodge dad's new home. We take comfort in knowing that Steve is reunited with his wife Anne. A private family service officiated by Father Michael Kwiatkowski has taken place at All Saints Cemetery. Gone But Not Forgotten
