WALTER YAREMCHUK August 24, 1929-February 2, 2009 With family by his side, Walter passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital after suffering a heart attack. Walter was predeceased by his wife Gloria, mother Rose, dad Sylvester, and brother Eddie (Joyce). Left to cherish his memory are, sisters Wanda (Adolf), Glady (Gord), nephews Dave (Rae), Gord (Carolyn) and brothers-in -law Johnny, Nestor (Pat). In his early years, Walter worked on the family farm in Poplarfield. Walter was a self-taught mechanic and his exceptional skills led him to a career as a heavy equipment and auto mechanic. He then decided he wanted to try his hand at entrepreneurship and he was happiest when he became owner of his own neighbourhood grocery store. Walter had a passion for cars, listening to Ukrainian music and frequent visits to Sals with Don and friends. Our thanks to his friend Betty who was always there for him. He truly appreciated your support. To the staff at the St. Boniface MICU- your care and compassion helped us through a very difficult and sad time. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. Walter had a special place in his heart for animals-especially his beloved Mia. If friends wish, donations in his memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Rest in Peace Big Brother
