Obituary of Irene WARD

IRENE ANNIE WARD Irene passed away with her loving family by her side on January 3, 2009 at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 93. Irene is survived by her children Brian (Sharline), Kathleen (Dennis), Bill (Nancy); daughter-in-law Kelly; grandchildren Michelle, Tara, Brian, Shawna, Carley, Tammy, Dean, James, Carrie and Nathan; 19 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; special friend Pat Homeniuk. She was predeceased by her husband Lorne (Red); parents William and Annie; daughter Maureen; brother Bill and sisters Myrtle and Kathleen. Irene was born in Winnipeg on April 19, 1915 and moved to England after her mother passed away then returned 6 years later. She married the love of her life on February 9, 1946. Irene worked at Leeders through the wartime. For 23 years she was a foster mom to many children. Irene attended St. Barnabas Anglican Church faithfully for many years. The family would like to thank the staff at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 10 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 730 McPhillips Street.
