JOHN PAUL MELO


Peacefully on January 10, 2009, Johnny passed away after a long courageous battle at the age of 22 years.


Johnny leaves to mourn his mother Ana, father Jose (Judy), sisters Marina (Matthew), Eleonor, and Raquel, girlfriend Lacey, his cat Schmoo, grandparents Herculano and Eduardo (Conceicao), God parents Joe De Sousa and Eduarda De Sousa, as well as numerous family and friends.


Johnny was predeceased by his grandmother Eduarda.


Johnny enjoyed being with his friends, sharing many laughs and pranks. He had a great passion for music, especially for playing guitar and singing in his band (WearYourWounds). Johnny touched many lives with just his smile and made life easy for everyone around him.


The family would like to thank the staff at CancerCare Manitoba, especially Dr. Maksymiuk and nurse Marisa for their continuous efforts to help prolong Johnny's life. A special thanks to the staff of ward RR6 from Health Sciences Centre for all their patience and wonderful caring nature.


Prayers will be said on Thursday, January 15 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 16 at. 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 250 Burrin Avenue. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.cropo.com


In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Rainbow Society.


Johnny, you will be greatly missed. You will forever be our hero.
