Obituary of Krystyna LIPINSKI

KRYSTYNA LIPINSKI February 1, 1925-January 3,2009 Peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2009, at the Grace Hospital, Krystyna Lipinski passed away at the age of 83 years. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children Richard and Wanda and 2 grandsons David and Michael. Chris was pre-deceased by her husband Adolphe (Al) in 1991. Krystyna was born in Poland and met dad at a German War Refugee Camp. In 1946, after a brief romance they were united in marriage. They were together 44 years until his untimely death in 1991. Later that year Krystyna and Adolphe left for England and spent a handful of years working various jobs throughout England and Wales. They arrived in Canada by ship in 1952 and shortly afterwards made Winnipeg their home. Chris worked hard all her life but especially enjoyed her years at the Misericordia Hospital. She loved getting her hands dirty in the flower and vegetable garden and feeding the birds. She was skilled in all types of needlework creating many beautiful tablecloths and doilies. She spent a good deal of time cooking traditional Polish dishes and baking apple pies from trees in the yard. Chris was known throughout the Wolseley neighbourhood and downtown areas for all her walking. Mama was a feisty gal, strong physically, and in character, and went about things in her very own way. We'll miss you mama. See you in our dreams. Wanda and Richard would like to thank friends and neighbours on Walnut and Alloway for their kindness and help throughout the years. The Clock of Life is wound but once. And no one has the Power. To tell just when the hands will stop On what day - or what hour. Now is the only time you have So love it - live it with a will. Don't wait until tomorrow The hands may then be still. A celebration of Krystyna's life was held with her family on Thursday, January 8, 2009. Service was held at Cropo Funeral Chapel and Interment followed at Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels -956-7711.
