Obituary of Jean GUSNOSKI

JEAN GUSNOSKI (NEE REWUCKI) The time has come for Jean to leave us and be with her dearest John, our father. After many years with Alzheimer's disease, Jean was set free on January 23, 2009. She was born on February 2, 1924 in Narol, Manitoba one of five children of the late Andrew and Mary Rewucki. She married John Gusnoski in 1943 and after the war, they started their family and lived and built their businesses in Winnipeg and Dauphin, Manitoba. In 1983, they retired in Winnipeg where their roots of family, church, and home were strong and compelling. Jean shared her many talents throughout her life, singing in the choir, cooking, sewing, and volunteering in her community. She gave her time and demonstrated her strong leadership in her involvement with the CWL and Toastmistress/ITC. She faithfully and tirelessly worked beside John through the years. Left to mourn her passing but also thankful for her love are her five children, Bob (Barb) Calgary; Marilyn (Bill) West Vancouver; Janet (Doug - 2004) Winnipeg; Ray (Vera) Gillam; and Richard (Debby) Winnipeg. She also leaves her grandchildren Laura (Baron) Calgary; Elizabeth (Sam) Edmonton; John (Erin) Richmond, BC; Jennifer (Jamie) North Vancouver; Carlton (Leanne) Kenora, ON; Leslie, Wpg; Christopher, Corinne, and Colleen, Gillam; Sherisse and Kali, Wpg; her great grandchildren, Hope; Ella, Addison and Gracie; Abby, Hudson, Holden, and Sarah; her brothers, Joe (Gerry - 1990) and Eddie (Agnes) and sister Joyce (Don); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Mary, her husband John, her brother, Willie and her granddaughter, Amy. Many thanks to the staff at River East Personal Care Home who provided excellent and compassionate care for the last 10 years. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, January 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 28 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe & Brazier. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Jean's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, the River East Personal Care Home, or a charity of your choice. Rest now Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma. We love you and will forever hold dear the good memories.
