It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lou-Ann Marie Pichette, beloved partner, mother, grandmother, foster mother, caregiver, and friend.

Lou-Ann leaves behind her loving partner, Kevin Salter; her children, Zachary Halldorsson (Harlee), Holly Hastings (Justin), and Sabrina Hallsall (Will), Shannon Sokal; and her seven beloved grandchildren, Kailey Ann, Mason, Addy, Finna, Daimen, Julie, and Robin. As well as her dear Neepawa family; The Tibbett’s. She also leaves behind all the children she cared for throughout her life, her beloved fur babies, extended family, and many friends who were fortunate enough to know and love her. 

Lou-Ann devoted much of her life to caring for others. For many years, she opened her home and her heart to foster children and worked in group homes supporting young people. She had a special ability to connect with kids and was often a favourite among those she worked with. She made people feel seen, understood, and cared for, and through that gift, she made a lasting difference in many lives.

Caring for others wasn’t just something Lou-Ann did at home—it was a part of who she was. She worked as an insurance broker for many years, where she was passionate about making sure people had the best coverage and felt confident that they were protected. Later in life, she became a veterinarian’s assistant, turning her lifelong love for animals into another way of caring for others.

Outside of her work, Lou-Ann was funny, creative, adventurous, and full of life. She loved puzzles, art, photography, animals, nature, motorcycles, and going to car shows. She loved music and dancing, and she had a passion for travelling and experiencing new places, with one of her most recent adventures taking her to the United Kingdom.

Lou-Ann was beautiful inside and out. She loved deeply, laughed often, and had a way of making people feel special.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at the Transcona Cropo Funeral Chapel (1800 Day Street).
