DAVIDE MOURA FIGUEIREDO Obituary
Davide Moura Figueiredo
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Davide Moura Figueiredo, in the early hours of Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
Davide was born in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, on March 27, 1957. In 1966, he immigrated to Canada with his parents and several of his siblings, settling in Winnipeg and making it his home. In 1991, Davide met the love of his life, Clara, while she was working at Saxon Leather. They married in 1995 and built a loving life together, alongside Davide’s two children.
Davide leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Clara; his children, Steven (Magda) and Michelle (Chris); and his cherished grandchildren, Joshuah, Mateo, Madeline, and Hugo.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bernardino and Emilia Figueiredo; his brothers, Bernardino, Angelo, and Jose; his sister, Maria; and his sister-in-law, Maria de Jose. Davide will also be deeply missed by his siblings Antonio (Beatriz), Manual (Juliana), Augustino (Maria), Anthony (Grace), Jamie (Judy), Alferd (Maria), and Guilda (Manuel); sisters-in-law Deolinda, Beatriz, and Emilia; and on his wife’s side, predeceased by his brother in law Arthur and is survived by brother in laws, Joe (Neila), Jim (Janet) and sister in law Filomena (Albert) and many nieces and nephews.
Davide was a humble, hardworking, and kind man who found joy in the simple things in life. He had a wonderful sense of humour, often accompanied by a playful and sarcastic wit that could make everyone around him laugh. He loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar and harmonica. He was also incredibly creative and could make almost anything with his hands, from furniture to intricate sculptures. There was a special satisfaction in creating something from nothing, and his family will always remember his talent and ingenuity.
Above all, Davide cherished his wife, his family, and his close friends. His love, laughter, kindness, and unique sense of humour will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured forever.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff at Maples Care Home for their compassion, kindness, and loving care. We are deeply grateful for everything they did to ensure Davide was safe, comfortable, and cared for during his final years.
Prayers will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Davide’s memory may donate to Cancer Care Manitoba.
