KSENIA PAPISH

May 18, 1925 – August 13, 2026

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ksenia Papish.

Born in the village of Dobrowody, Ukraine, Ksenia lived a remarkable 101 years.  Throughout her long life, she was known for her kindness, generosity, strength and unwavering devotion to her family.  Her warm heart, gentle spirit and love for others touched all who knew her.

Ksenia is lovingly remembered by her son, Reverend Myron (Gladys); her daughters, Mary (Lloyd) and Anne (Jules); her five grandchildren and her three great-grandchildren.  She took great pride in her family and found immense joy in the generations that followed her.

Ksenia was predeceased by her first husband, Olexa Pozniak; her second husband, John Papish; her brother Walter Balicki; her parents, John and Pauline Balicki and other extended family members from the Ukraine, Poland and Canada.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel in Transcona, 1800 Day Street. The service will be live-streamed.

Ksenia’s life was one of faith, perseverance and love.  She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, resilience and devotion to family that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
