Michael Doric Dubienski, born February 28th, 1956, surrendered, a true warrior, of his 3-year cancer journey, to the armour of the Lord, to overcome. He took this “fantastic opportunity” to leave this earth for his open house in heaven, on August 9, 2026, with his wife Debbie every step of the way; by his side, till death did they part at St Boniface Hospital.

Greeting him at the gates of heaven are parents: Jocelyn & Judge Ian V. Dubienski, brother Peter Dubienski, brother-in-law Gary Scherbain, nephew Daniel Dubienski, mother-in-law Mary Choptain, brother-in-law David Choptain, and sister-in-law Susan Choptain.

He leaves his light on earth in the hearts and minds of his wife Debbie, children: Stephen (Sarah Cameron-Dubienski, grandchildren: Cohen, Jacey, Adele), Kathryn (Chris Chipman, grandsons: Theodore, Charles), Emily (Joseph McDougall, granddaughter: Sage). Step children: Eden Namaka (Cory Rey), Brock Namaka (Kyra), & Treye Namaka. Siblings: Ian (Melinda), Jennifer, Philip (Shirley), Marie-Louise, “Mimi” (Don Harold), nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and every human he interacted with.

Mike was passionate for the ‘people business’; markedly, the Ski Boutique, Prairie Sailboards, and his legendary 36 years as a realtor, and received many awards. The Lifetime Achievement Award received professionally beacons his service of sales, and his beautiful humanness of kindness, humour, amazing listener, and wise storyteller.

He loved the water: 7 & under champion swimmer, pioneer camp, wind surfing, boating; particularly in the wooden boat & ‘Showtime’, skiing, and running many half marathons, and walking the paths of ‘City/Assiniboine’ park, and relaxing outside on the Queenston patios.

Infinite gratitude to ALL who have loved and cared for Mike so well in his journey on earth. We believe God hand picked his health care providers, Dr K. Kinsner, Dr C. Kim, and Nurse Elvera.

In accordance with Mike’s wishes, there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place, and he will be taken home by his beloved wife, Debbie and family. He leaves his legacy of love given to everyone. Eternally free to adjust his sails.
