Many fond memories of my older first cousin “Sally “, whom I looked up to as a glamorous, well-dressed, and sophisticated young woman, 12 years my senior. I was so grateful for her kindness and creative ability when she so generously gifted me with a huge bag of hand-made, quality doll clothes that I cherished dearly and lastingly as a young child. She made me feel like I was her special “little” sister!
In time, and with distance separating and finding new paths for all of us, family gatherings became less frequent, but we never forgot those precious Sunday nights spent together at Sally’s family farm (staying up late and watching our very first TV programs and enjoying Aunt Cora’s savoury pies)!!
As time went on, and life got busy, our less frequent encounters at social gatherings were filled with Sally's recalling of happy and fun-filled tales of the “good, old days” gone by! There would always be a chuckle in the mix, leaving us with lasting memories of her warmth, her heartfelt family ties, and her beautiful smile!!
