August 1, 1946 - July 9, 2026


Sadly, Gary passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 9th leaving behind his life partner of 55 years, Cathy Van  de Vorst. 


Living a life full of passion and curiosity, he was known for his adventurous spirit and had many interests and activities over the years including restoring cars, auto racing, downhill skiing, and others.


He spent his career as a lighting technician in the theatre and movie industries.


Gary leaves a legacy of love and will be deeply missed by Cathy, as well as his siblings Marilynn, David (Mary-Anne), Jim (Lara), Sandy (Rob),  Chris (Larry), nephew Scott (Allyson) and niece Brookelynn as well as great nieces and great nephews, other extended family members, and friends.   Cathy’s family will also miss Gary very much.


Gary was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Lillian as well as his brother Lloyd and his brother-in-law Alan. 


In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.  Family and friends are invited to join in a  celebration of Gary’s life on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 1:00 at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg.
