DORIS PAULINE WALTON Obituary

Doris Pauline Walton

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Doe Walton, of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Doe passed away on June 14, 2026, with her loving husband Reg, by her side. Doe was 86 years of age, born in Provost, Alberta, to parents David and Mabel Read. Doe is survived by her siblings; brother Mel (Lu-Anne) and sisters; Edith Read (Herb) and Linda Broemeling (Dave).

She was predeceased by her daughter Sabra Viscano, and her parents David and Mabel Read.

Doe is survived by her husband, Reg Walton; children Victor Pollen, Vaughan Pollen; grandchildren; Gabby and Brandon Viscano.

Doe grew up in a farming community and became an air traffic controller in the Canadian Armed Forces before leaving and starting a family. The family lived throughout Canada and even spent a number of years overseas with the Canadian Military.

Doe’s love for travel was nurtured by these postings and she subsequently carved out an amazing career in the travel industry becoming the District Manager for Marlin Travel in Western Canada. Doe traveled extensively to all four corners of the world, and it was on one of these adventures that she met the love of her life; Reg Walton of Norfolk, England. The two shared their love of travel and had many epic trips together. They married in the summer of 2014 and, together they continued their explorations of this world for another 12 years. During this time, they were able to split their time between city life in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and a country life in Norfolk, England, as well as visiting friends around the world. Doe enjoyed nothing more than telling stories about her travels and she thoroughly enjoyed her time living in her home in England.

Her passion for travel was only matched by her passion for gardening which could be seen in her Winnipeg backyard. An English Garden in the heart of Winnipeg!  Doe spent countless hours cultivating and maintaining a stunning property. She was also a talented glass cutter as was evident in the handmade ornaments that graced her garden along with some beautiful pieces in her home. Doe blazed a trail in her working life and incorporated a personal life rich in travel, adventure, and friendships.

Doe will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by sons Vic Pollen (Deb Harper), Vaughan Pollen (Pamela Wain). Doe was also the proud grandmother to Sabra’s children, Gabby (Dhanu) and Brandon.

The family especially thanks the doctors and nurses at the Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg who managed her care and comfort over her final days.

As per Does’s wishes, cremation has already taken place and there will be no service. Those of you who wish to leave messages or comments may do so at Cropo.com
