RANDALL WAYNE FORTESCUE Obituary

Randall Wayne Fortescue

(Randy/Papa/Scue)

Randy passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side on May 16, 2026 at Selkirk Regional Health Centre, at the age of 65 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Catherine, brothers Don, Brian, Cameron, sister Debbie, and brother-in-law Richard. Also, his trusty four-legged companion Muskwa.

Randy was a devoted partner and is lovingly remembered by his fiancé (aka Wifey) Lee.  He was a loving father to his sons Shane (mother Monica), Joshua and Brenden (mother Wendy).  He was a proud Papa to his grandson Liam and granddaughter’s Tatiana and Sofia.  He also brought his love to Lee’s children Karen (Rob), Kent and grandsons Hudson and Caiden.

Randy leaves to mourn his sisters Judy, Dar (Paul), Sandra (Grant), and Donna, sister in law Pat and brother in law Karl.  He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Randy was born at the St, Boniface hospital on January 28, 1961.  His journey began at the family farm in Springfield, Manitoba; where there were plenty of shenanigans going on with his older brother Cameron. These shenanigans carried on into Transcona; when the family moved from the farm in the later part of the 60’s. Randy was educated at various Transcona schools.

Randy had several jobs and careers throughout his life; He worked for Empress Foods and KUB bakery as a baker, running a moving company with his brother Cameron – Blue Diamond Transport, Buckboard Express as owner operator of his flat deck truck, ASA Alloys and ending with Superior Asphalt Paving, when he retired to care for his older brother Brian.

Randy loved music.  He loved to sing and play the harmonica, dabbled with the drums and guitar. Randy loved to laugh, tell jokes, stories, play cards and teach his card tricks to the grandchildren. His legacy will live on.  He played pool, darts (both soft tip and steel tip), and has even tried several games of golf!

Summers were spent enjoying the outdoors, bonfires, camping, lake time at Shane’s, bike riding, and Blue Bomber games. Winters were meant for travelling to warm destinations, Winnipeg Jets games, dinners, dancing and the occasional visit to the Casino or VLT lounge.

Randy was a gentleman. He was kind, considerate, caring and wouldn’t hesitate to help those in need. He brought light and laughter into the lives of his family and friends.

Randy’s compassion, warmth and gentle spirit will live on in the memories of those who knew him and those whose lives he touched.

The family would like to thank Dr. H.B. Lee & Associates, St. Boniface Cancer Care and Selkirk Regional Health Centre (2nd Fl Medicine) for Randy’s care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Transcona Legion #7, 117 Regent Ave. in Winnipeg, on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
