RICK REICH Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rick Reich on April 24, 2026, at the age of 69.

Rick was born and raised on the family farm in Swan River, Manitoba, where he developed the strong work ethic and community spirit that would define his life. A man of many talents, Rick wore countless hats over the years—horseman, farmer, entrepreneur, accountant, business manager, carpenter, trusted advisor and his most important role as a cherished husband, father and papa. Whatever the task, he approached it with determination, skill, and a willingness to help others.

Rick was deeply committed to his community and always looked for ways to make it better. He contributed his time and energy to the Swan River Valley Agricultural Society, served on Municipal Council, and supported the Swan Valley Stampeders Junior 'A' Hockey Team. He was never far from a project or a cause, and he was always ready with ideas, advice, and a helping hand.

Known for his tireless work on homes and renovations, Rick left his mark—quite literally—on many family and friend's homes, through hard work, perseverance, and the occasional mishap. His dedication, resourcefulness, and eye for detail were unmatched, and he took pride in every project he touched.

Above all, Rick’s greatest joy was his family. He devoted countless hours to his children and grandchildren, driving to various sports practices and games and helping them with anything that needed "Ricky Bobby's" touch. He was always searching for the best materials, planning improvements, or dreaming up the next project. He loved teaching, guiding, and working alongside them, creating not just projects, but lasting memories. Time spent with his girls, his “sons,” and especially his grandchildren brought him his deepest happiness.

Rick will be profoundly missed for his larger-than-life presence, his quick wit and sense of humor, his unwavering determination, and his generous, loving spirit. His desire to serve others and his deep love for his family will remain his lasting legacy.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Debbie, daughters and sons-in-law: Jodi Holm (Rich), Lynnsey Eastoe (Kevin), and Kendyll Scott (Vinny); his cherished grandchildren, Ethan and Annika Eastoe; his brother Ralph Reich; his father-in-law Don Sparkman (Shirley); brothers- and sisters-in-law Donna and Leon Bohach, Scott and Jan Sparkman, Keith and Cindy Sparkman, Carol Reich and Bill Meadows; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and treasured friends.

Rick was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Una Reich; his brother, Jim Reich; his sister, Judy Meadows; and his mother-in-law, Winnie Sparkman.

Rick’s memory will live on in the lives he touched, the community he helped build, and the family he loved so deeply.

As per Rick's wishes there will be no service, a small celebration of life will be held at a later date.
