DANIEL DAVID OTULAK Obituary
It is with very heavy hearts to share that Daniel Otulak passed away suddenly on April 29, 2026. At only 40 years old, Daniel had so much more life to live, but the impact he made in his short time will never be forgotten.
Daniel is survived by; parents Franciszek and Czeslawa Otulak, mother-in-law Karabou Ama, wife Catherine Agoli-Agbo, brother Victor Otulak (Jessica), and brother-in-law Anicet Agoli-Agbo. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews Emery, Brinlee, Kurby, Kavany and Kilyan. Including his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Daniel was born and raised in Winnipeg. He graduated from River East Collegiate and then became journeyman electrician through Red River College. Daniel worked at New Flyer for the past 12 years as a maintenance electrician. He was an integral part of his work team and enjoyed the work. He made many long-lasting friendships at New Flyer, and always had funny stories to share about his coworkers.
Daniel was an outgoing man who enjoyed talking with anyone, about anything and everything. He always showed up to the party. He was approachable to others and was easy to get along with. He knew many random facts about different topics, which made talking to him easy. He had many hobbies, including painting, Warhammer, playing video games, going to the gym, and cooking meats in his smoker.
Daniel took great pride in his Polish heritage. He loved letting others know he was Polish, and enjoyed teaching others Polish traditions and phrases. He often reminisced on his travels to Poland with his parents and brother. He proudly volunteered yearly at the Polish pavilion at Folklorama.
Daniel was just starting his next chapter of life with his wife Catherine. The two of them just wed in October 2025 in a beautiful ceremony. They had recently celebrated their honeymoon in January, where Daniel had the pleasure of meeting Catherine's family and friends from back home. This trip was a highlight of the next chapter in life he was just starting. Daniel and Catherine had just started home renovations and planned to grow their family together.
It gives us peace knowing he will be welcomed by his beloved dog Delilah, and his grandparents and friends in heaven.
A funeral Service will be held at the Holy Ghost Parish (342 Pritchard Ave, Winnipeg) on Monday, May 11, 2026 with the Rosary starting at 9:30a.m. and the service starting at 10:00a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Cemetery (4387 Main St, West Saint Paul).
Daniel participated in the Cerebral Palsy Bike challenge yearly.
