I met Chris in first year university at the U of W. Although we were the same age, she took me under her wing because she had already been at university for a year. We lived together for awhile and partied through the 1970s (Chris had the best booze and the best snacks) and our relationship survived husbands and relationships on both of our parts. Chris was fun to be with. She was very intelligent and very dedicated to and passionate about her work. We didn't have much face to face contact after I moved to BC, but there were always cards for every occasion. My thoughts are with Barrie and the Sanderson siblings.

My deepest condolences to Barrie and Chris’s family. I worked with Chris through the union and always valued her as my first go-to for any questions regarding bylaws. She was a dedicated parliamentarian and a woman of immense integrity.
What I admired most was her courage. She had a gift for understanding where others were coming from and never hesitated to stand up for what she believed was right, even if she was the only one in the room doing so. She was a person of great character and a heart of gold. She will be missed by many of us.

Chris was one of my dearest friends for almost 50 years. Roommate, dance buddy, travel companion and bridesmaid, she had a sense of fun, a commitment to her many passions, a deep intellect, and an ability to turn the everyday into an occasion. She was also the most generous person I knew. She supported her community in every way: volunteering at Folklorama and The Fringe Festival, holding season tickets to every theater company in the city, dining out at more restaurants than you could count, and attending the Jazz Festival, opera, ballet, concerts, and Jets and Bombers games. Her husband Barrie and I have decided to create a bursary in her name as a tribute, and details will follow soon. She is deeply missed by me, my husband and daughters.

My warmest condolences to you Barrie and Chris’ family. My shock at this news has actually left me speechless. For many years Chris, Edith and myself (and Brenda when her job allowed her) would get together for lunch once a month to enjoy a catch-up with each other. Good times indeed. She will be missed.
Most sincerely

Christine was definitely unique and one of a kind!
One memory that I have from years gone by was when she was facilitating GST training for new employees. She had brought enough skirts for everyone in class and decided that she was going to teach us belly dancing during a break! As you can imagine, a few of the guys weren’t empressed, but she didn’t care.
The candy / chocolate bowl outside her office was always full (often with the really good stuff).
She was a very charitable and giving person. Even to those who didn’t necessarily deserve her generosity.
You will definitely be missed.
