In Loving Memory of Joao Luis Pereira

Joao Luis Pereira passed away peacefully with his wife by his side, surrounded by his close family; Cristiana (Noah), Juliana (Lukas), Tamara (Noland), Sheri (Rul) and Duarte.

He was predeceased by his parents, Almerinda and Manuel; his parents-in-law Olivia and Manuel; and his brothers Jose, Manuel and Diodato. Joao was also predeceased by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Manuel and Veriata and his nephew Luis Pimentel.

In 1974 Joao started a new life in Canada, striving to create a future filled with lasting memories.  In 1975, he married the love of his like, Maria Pereira.  Over the course of 51 years, they grew up and grew old together, sharing a profound love and creating countless memories.

Joao was a man you could always count on to make you laugh during hard times and someone you could lean on for guidance.  He had a passion for soccer, loved spending time outdoors with his wife and pets, and enjoyed playing care games with his family.

He leaves behind to his cherished memory with his brothers, Mariano (Maria) and their children Sally and Diana and Silvano (Fatima) and their children Dino and Sandra.  He is also survived by his brother-in-law Joao (Dora) and their children Victor, Mike and John; his nieces and nephews Duarte (Maria) and their children Manuel, Alyshia and Artur (Sandra); Olivia; and his sister-in-law Connie.  Joao will be deeply missed by numerous friends and extended family from the U.S., Portugal and Canada whom he loved so dearly.

The service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue.
