VICTORIA KRUK Obituary
Victoria Kruk
Peacefully on April 19, 2026, our beloved mother Vicky, passed away at Betel Home in Gimli. Vicky was born on January 23, 1936 in Senkiw, Manitoba.
Vicky leaves to mourn her passing, her four daughters, Doreen (Wayne), Val (Tom), Karen (Walter) and Cindy (Chris). She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Kyra and Adam. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years Eugene, parents, Stefan and Dora, and by her brothers Walter and John and sisters Marge, Jennie, Stephie and Sylvia.
Mom grew up on a farm in Senkiw along with her 11 brothers and sisters. She was often the assistant cook helping to make meals for that large family. All the kids had to help out.
Vicky was a lifelong homemaker. She was an excellent cook and baker. She sewed our clothes, made 10 loaves of bread every week and always knew how to stretch her food budget. She was always feeding someone who just happened to be in the neighbourhood and dropped in. We had a standing joke about the emergency pork roast she always seemed to have on hand. Mom was legendary for making the traditional Ukrainian Christmas Eve dinner every year for the entire extended Rybuck family.
Mom was a dedicated member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church UCWL, where she formed many lasting friendships. Together, Mom and Dad loved to travel, spend time with family, fish, camp, and dance.
Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by Reverend Hoi and Reverand Tyrawski on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 10:00 am at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Avenue with interment to follow.
We wish to thank the staff at Betel for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Betel Home Foundation Tubroom project.
Vichnaya Pam'yat Mom, we will miss you.
