Elaine Baril passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026 at West Park Manor at the age of 76.

Elaine is survived by her husband Bob of 55 years, her daughter Heather and her sons Stephen and Matthew, her sister Patricia, her brother David and his partner Helen.  She is also survived by six sisters in law, six brothers in law and twenty- three nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents William and Lil Moore, brother Kenneth, brothers in law Bill Boddy and Brian Baril, sisters in law Irene Moore and Cathy Paterson.

Elaine was born on April 16, 1949 at St. Boniface Hospital.  She grew up in a loving family of five in the west end of Winnipeg on Banning St.  She attended St. Edwards School up to grade eight and went to The Convent of the Sacred Heart for high school.  After graduating high school, Elaine went to work for MTS where she made many friendships, one of which lasts till today. Elaine met Bob at St. Edwards when he coached the girl baseball team.  They dated briefly in high school and reconnected for good after high school.  Elaine and Bob married in 1970 and she was the most beautiful bride ever.  Elaine and Bob moved to Saskatoon in 1972 where she went to work for Sasktel.  She made more lifelong friends in Saskatoon.  Heather arrived in1975 and Stephen in 1977. In 1980 she moved back to Winnipeg when Bob got a transfer with his work.  In 1982 Matthew arrived and her family was completed.  Elaine spent the next twenty years loving and caring for her family.  In1994, after beating cancer, Elaine entered university in the faculty of Fine Arts, fulfilling a lifetime dream.  She graduated with a degree in Fine Arts with Honours, missing the gold medal by 2 points.  We were so proud of her. 

Over the years, Elaine and Bob were able to visit Italy, France, England, go on a few cruises, visit Dave in Thompson and Pat in Ottawa as well as many trips to Vancouver Island.  As much as we travelled Elaine was always happiest at home looking after her garden and doing her art.

She loved her family unconditionally and was loved in return.  Elaine started showing signs of dementia in 2021 and was placed in West Park Manor in December of 2023 and was cared for by a group of angels for two and a half years.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street,
