Gary Jim Chrusch

January 13, 1951 - March 12, 2026

Gary Jim Chrusch, 75, of Garson, Manitoba, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Selkirk Hospital on March 12, 2026.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Gracia (nee Parisien) of 53 years; his children, daughters, Lea (Tyler), Amanda (Darryl) and son, Scott (Muriel), and his beloved grandchildren, Brandon, William, Samuel, Benjamin, Elliot and Arthur; and great grandson, Wesley. He leaves his two sisters Julie and Emily, and his brother Frank and in-laws.

Gary was a dedicated machinist at CN for over 35 years and his thirst for knowledge got him to pursue a conductors certificate. He was a jack of all trades; certified taxidermist, an avid gardener, a skilled woodworker, backyard mechanic and even renovated his forever home. He enjoyed spending quality time with family. You could rely on him for help, advice, kindness and his love for his wife and family was inspiring.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was loved by all and will not be forgotten.

A Celebration of life will happen at a later date.

A special thank you to all the healthcare professionals, especially the staff at Selkirk Regional Health Centre for providing wonderful care to Gary over the course of his final months.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gary’s memory to Cancercare Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
