LUISA VIVEIROS Obituary

Luisa Viveiros

March 5, 1939 – March 2, 2026

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Luisa Viveiros, at the age of 86, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Luisa was predeceased by her husband Humberto, her parents, two brothers, and two sisters‑in‑law. She leaves two children to mourn, Ilda (Jim) and Bert (Diane); her grandchildren Brandon (Abby), Brayson, Josh, and Abbie; two sisters, one brother, two brothers‑in‑law; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Winnipeg, Ontario, Brazil, and Portugal.

Born in Capelas, São Miguel, Azores, Portugal, Luisa married the love of her life, Humberto, in July 1961. They shared 54 years of happy marriage, building a life grounded in hard work, mutual respect, and deep family values. In October 1966, they immigrated to Canada, embracing a new chapter with courage, determination, and hope for the future.

Being a homemaker, mother, and grandmother was the role that shaped her life most profoundly. She took great pride in creating a home that was always pristine, perfectly organized, and thoughtfully maintained. Luisa held her husband, children, and grandchildren close to her heart, showing unwavering love, and quiet strength in all she did. Her legacy continues in the hearts of her family and in the lives of all who were blessed by her kindness.

Fresh flowers were the perfect gift for Luisa. She loved them dearly, and they never failed to bring a smile to her face. She would spend hours arranging each bouquet with care, creating beautiful displays that brightened her home.

Saturdays were always her favourite day of the week. She treasured the simple tradition of attending church with Humberto, sharing supper together, and never missing an episode of Hockey Night in Canada. Throughout the week, she enjoyed watching The Price Is Right and Family Feud, small moments of joy and routine she loved sharing with those closest to her.

Visitation and Mass will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon at Immaculate Conception Church, 181 Austin Street N. Interment will take place at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. Following the interment, a reception will be held at the Corpo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.

Gone but never forgotten, we love you and will carry you forever in our hearts.
