Gary Michael Hnatiuk

March 19, 1959 – February 5, 2026

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Gary Michael Hnatiuk on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the age of 66. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he was predeceased by his parents John and Natalie and brother Gordon. 

Gary is survived by his sisters Catherine Koch (Charles) and Debbie Hnatiuk; his nephews James Koch (Vanessa, Simon, Elizabeth); Daniel Koch (Georgia and Arthur); niece Julianne Koch (Alfredo) and his dog Teddy.

Gary was employed at New Flyer Industries until his recent retirement. He was an active member of Kildonan Community Church. Gary’s faith was very important to him, and he was a mentor to many. Gary enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He had a strong love of animals. He will be remembered for his kindness, gentle disposition, and generous spirit.

Some of the things Gary enjoyed were: working with cars, time spent in his home gym and playing cards with family. Gary was meticulous with his home and yard maintenance and enjoyed both.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kildonan Community Church, located at 2373 Main Street.
