MARGIE GERALDINE BOULANGER
With Heavy hearts, on Saturday January 31, 2026, we announced the passing of Margie Geraldine Boulanger of Berens River, Manitoba, who peacefully passed away with her family by her side, at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 66.
Margie was born on January 18, 1960 in Berens River, Manitoba. She resided in Bloodvein First Nation until the time of her passing.
Margie was a person who loved to help others, she was kind and caring, and was also well known for her patience. She was compassionate about her job as the building healthy community coordinator. She loved organizing events and activities for the community. What she loved most was when she hosted monthly events for the elders, going above and beyond to help them.
Beyond her achievements, Margie was a devoted, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and a cherished colleague.
Margie loved traveling to new places, traveling in snow storms, playing bingo, shopping, spending quality time with friends and family, planning family celebrations, supporting her family, and being her own carpenter. Her spirit will be remembered for her kindness, her dedication, and the heart she had.
Margie was predeceased by her husband Ernest Cook, her parents, Rebecca Swain and Harrison Boulanger, her brother Lindsay Boulanger, sister Elsie Bouchie, granddaughter Suzie Hamilton, grandson Lewis Hamilton and all those who passed before her.
Margie is survived by her common law partner Daniel Cook, her children; Clifford (Melanie), Mitchell (Blanche), Karl (Kayla), Dustin (Kathy), Robin (Jenna), Carolyn (Jeffery), Nicole, and her 5 grandchildren she raised, she always referred them as “my children”; Tyrell, Tyson, Elsie, Theresa, and Summer. Her grandchildren, Andrea, Triston, Samuel, Ashton, Brenda, Chase, Serenity, Mitch, Honor, Tashianna, Harrison, Seth, Karl, Russell, Star, Angel, Sunrise, Sunshine, Kaleb, Karmah, O’shea, Arizona, Keaira, Heavenly, and LaShawn. Her sisters, Lena Whiteway, Valerie Sawanash (Jeff), Doris Flett, Hazel Hudson, Priscilla Hudson, and her brother Stanford Boulanger (Leona). She also had 15 great grandchildren. Including, numerous, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Also, her great friend and sister-in-law Karen Cook. We are all grateful for all the memories you left behind, they will always be cherished.
A wake service will be held for Margie Boulanger at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Snack and beverages will be served.
On Wednesday February 11, 2026 she will travel to Berens River, Manitoba, leaving Winnipeg approximately 10 a.m.
A Wake services will be held in Berens River at the Berens River United Church from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Snack and beverages will be served.
On Thursday February 12, 2026, she will travel to Bloodvein First Nation, leaving Berens River at approximately 12:00 noon.
A Wake services will be held in Bloodvein First Nation at the Wellness Center (JP building) from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Snacks and beverages will be served.
On Friday February 13, 2026 a funeral service will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Wellness Center in Bloodvein.
Margie will travel to Winnipeg Manitoba approximately leaving Bloodvein First Nation at 2:00 p.m.
