Sandra Anne Werestiuk

With heavy hearts and deep love, the family of Sandra Anne Werestiuk announces her sudden passing on December 15, 2025, at her home, at the age of 72.

Sandra will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 16 years, Rodney Werestiuk; her son Mike Meilleur (Lisa); grandchildren Taiven and Cohen her sister, Terry Jameson (John), Karen Pepin, and Rosie Zubrinski (Phil). Her step children Lisa Caners (Rod) & Chrissy Werestiuk (Ivica Kucinic); step grandchildren, Jasmine, Zach, Angel and Alayna, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Beatrice and Walter Hourie; stepfather Raymond Hurell, as well as her brothers Peter, Mark and Nelson.

Sandra was a gentle, creative soul with a deep love for art, nature and the simple joys of life. A talented watercolour artist, she especially loved painting birds and spending time with her crafty friends at North Centennial Seniors. She enjoyed thrifting, searching for unique treasures, and finding the perfect frames for her artwork.

Some of her happiest moments spent at the cottage in Winnipeg Beach with her beloved husband, her partner and best friend. They loved quiet mornings with coffee, evenings by the fire, and rainy-day movies. Sandra also enjoyed camping at Manitoba’s beautiful campgrounds, including Buffalo Point, Lundar, Turtle Mountain and many more adventures still on the horizon.

Sandra and Rodney met in 2002 and were married in Jamaica in 2009. Together, they lovingly renovated their home and cottage and looking forward to the next chapter of retirement.

Sandra’s gentle presence, artistic spirit, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her, including her furry baby Zoey.

Honouring Sandee’s wishes a celebration of life with immediate family & close friends will be held at a future date.
