Melvin “Dallas” Thompson

It is with great sadness that the family of Melvin “Dallas” Thompson announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at the age of 79 after a brief battle with colon cancer.

Dallas will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Linda; children, Dwayne (Laurie), Melva, Jacki-Lyn (Craig); grandchildren, Dallas (Tyson), Madison (Nick), Cheryl, Hope and JJ; great granddaughter, Codi-Lyn. Gail, sister and many nieces and nephews. Dallas has two fur children, Bear and Rosie, that he spoiled with his attention and cheezies. His furry grandchildren, Bruno, George, Tina, Sophia, Primm and Boston will truly miss his treats of bologna, cheese and toast.

Dallas was predeceased by his parents Benjamin, Grace and Ernest; siblings Billy and Meleena.

Dallas was a man of few words; however, he was fiercely protective of those he loved and his actions never required an explanation. He loved hunting and his family, sometimes it was not always clear in what order! Codi-Lyn recently learned how to say “papa”, and when Dallas heard it for the first time, it was the look of true happiness.
