CLIFFORD WAYNE SCHICK Obituary

Clifford Wayne Schick of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026 in Grace Hospital at the age of 80. He passed knowing how loved he was by his family.

Clifford was born in Grace Hospital, Born to Edward Frederick Schick and Lydia Schick on March 10, 1945. He went to high school at Elmwood High and later took a year of fine arts in University. Clifford was in an apprenticeship for CN Rail in Saskatoon where he met the love of his life Angeline. They got married in 1973, and soon after they created a beautiful family and life together.

He worked as a Machinist for the Canadian National Railway. Although he worked hard to be the provider for his family, his true passion was his gift for art. Clifford was a professional artist, who spent his life pursuing that passion. It brought him so much joy to do caricatures of people.  He loved to capture the beauty of life through art. Clifford enjoyed summers at the cabin, family vacations to Candle Lake and visiting the in-laws and extended family. Clifford was a family man. When he held his first child, Heidi, in his arms, it was a moment he never forgot, his heart was filled with love. He enjoyed spending time building with his son Joshua as well as talking about life and art with his youngest daughter, Leilani. He is now getting the joy of meeting his daughter Maria in heaven. Clifford enjoyed teaching his grandchildren techniques on how to become a better artist.  He would often say, “art is from the heart”, and “one of life's greatest joys is: good brushes, a blank canvas and a great cup of coffee…”  Clifford was a gentle and strong man, who left a legacy of unconditional love, generosity, and a passion for art and storytelling.

Clifford had a devoted heart of love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. His family has great peace knowing that he is spending his days in Heaven making the most beautiful art. Clifford was a loyal husband for 52 years. He was full of unconditional and patient love, he was a dad and grandpa that loved beyond measure. He was kind and full of great jokes and humour to everyone he encountered.

Clifford leaves to cherish his memory wife Angeline Schick; his children Heidi Gaskin (Schick) and her husband David Gaskin,  Joshua Schick, Leilani MacPherson (Schick) and her husband Benjamin MacPherson and his beloved grandchildren Euphemia Gaskin, Luke Gaskin, Azlynn Macpherson, Bailey MacPherson, Elias MacPherson, Mikyla MacPherson and Arwynn MacPherson.

Clifford is predeceased in death by his Father Edward Frederick Schick and Mother Lydia Schick;  Brother Melvin Schick;  sister-in-law Donna Schick and in-laws Micheal and Katherine Bodnarchuk.
