Marie passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Park Manor Care Home at the age of 93.

She was predeceased by her Husband, Jack; Son, Mike; Parents, Elizabeth and John, and Siblings, Len, Bing, James, and Patrick.

Marie is lovingly remembered by her sons; Bruce (Twyla) and Vince (Linda), Grandchildren. Nicole (Jesse), Ashley (Ben), and Marcus, and great-grandchildren, Emily and Sophia. She also leaves behind her sister, Kathleen “Bud” Hanson.

Marie was born in Acadia Valley, AB, and raised in Red Deer, AB. She went to school at UBC, where she met and married the love of her life, Jack, in Calgary in 1956. They moved to Winnipeg in 1964/ Marie worked at Great West Life and retired in 1992.

Marie was a track athlete and speed skater. She enjoyed aerobics and cycling. She was a devout Roman Catholic, attending and contributing to Blessed Sacrament church for over 50 years. Of all the things that made her life happy and full, what gave her the most joy was being a mother and grandmother.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Transcona Cropo Chapel (1800 Day Street), with Father Gerry Ward as Celebrant.
