TAYLOR JAY BOULETTE Obituary

Taylor Jay was born on Friday, June 9, 1995. She passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 28, 2025, at the young age of 30. She was born to Odette and Jason and grew up just down the street from her Gramma Alanna and Poppa Willy’s, surrounded by family and love.

Taylor received her education at Strathcona School and graduated from Tech Voc High School in Winnipeg. She later earned her Educational Assistant certificate from Urban Circle Training Centre.

As a young girl, Taylor was already independent—spunky, smart, talkative, and sweet. She was welcomed into the world by her three older brothers and later became a loving and protective big sister to her younger siblings. She was known fondly as “Sissy” until little sister Leia arrived.

Long before becoming a mother herself, Taylor helped her dad raise her siblings, who were her first babies and the foundation of her deep motherly instincts. Family was everything to her—values rooted in the love and guidance of her grandmother, who was the family’s rock and Taylor’s greatest inspiration when it came to strong family values.

Taylor was a devoted and loving mother to her beautiful daughters and the very heart of her family. Her girls lovingly called her “Mommy Shark.” Kind and deeply understanding, Taylor had a rare gift for making people feel seen, heard, and truly cared for. She was always willing to help and ensured everyone in her life felt loved and valued.

When it came to her girls, Taylor met them at their level—taking the time to explain, to comfort, to laugh, and to play. Their sweetness reflected her own. She had a natural gift with children and shared that love through her work in daycare. Taylor was the favorite aunt to her nieces and nephews, always found at the kids’ table—laughing, playing, cleaning up after them, wiping snotty noses, and comforting them when they were hurt. She never hesitated to step in, taking matters into her own hands and making sure the children were cared for first.

Taylor was rarely without laughter, a song, or plans for a get-together. Living by a “go big or go home” spirit, she poured herself wholeheartedly into everything she did. Nothing was ever too much for her, as her joy, generosity, and larger-than-life energy were simply part of who she was.

As a sister, she was the one we looked for in a crowd—the one we shared our secrets with, our good and bad news alike. She was the one we knew would always, always be there. We loved her deeply, but she loved us more. She was always in our prayers—and that is where she will forever remain. Her loss will be felt for years to come, and our hearts will remain broken for a long time. She left an imprint on our hearts that can never be erased, and we will carry her with us for the rest of our lives.

Taylor is survived by her beautiful daughters, Alanna Chanelle, Dakota Pearl,  Renee Alyssa and god-child Lexii-Lyn; her mom, Odette (Gordon); her dad, Jason (Lorrie); her brothers Jenson (Erika) and children, Kevin (Jenna) and children, Terry (Norma) and childrenKobe, Jordan (Jersey) and Vienna, Tatedyn, Jax, Luca-Jay; and her sister, Leia Mistie Bleu.

She is also survived by her grandpa Poppa Willy, aunties Nancy, Rhonda, Rosie, Cil, and April, and her uncles Joe (Dean), Gilbert (Cheryl)Emile and Justin “Dusty” (Rochelle).

Taylor shared a special bond with Kaila Cook-Lathlin (Danielle) and children. Kaila was her “Sissy” and best friend.

She was predeceased by her grandmothers Alanna Boulette, Olive McGillivary and her auntie Elaine “Pud” McGillivary, along with other family members and friends too numerous to mention.

We gratefully thank everyone who was there for Taylor Jay throughout her life, from childhood to adulthood. To anyone we may have forgotten to mention, please know it was not intentional, and your love and presence are deeply appreciated.
