BRYAN GEORGE SKENE
October 8, 1953 - November 30, 2025
Bryan was born in Dryden, Ontario, October 8, 1953 and was the son of the late Del and Dorothy Skene. He was also predeceased by his two brothers Ron and Gordie.
Bryan grew up and worked in Dryden and Thunder Bay before moving to Winnipeg in 1984. He worked hard at many jobs in the paper and trucking industries before retiring.
Bryan was a long-time supporting member and avid listener of CJNU Nostalgia Radio and more recently The Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada. He was a whiz at crossword puzzles, loved playing his favourite 4 Pics One Word on the iPad, snuggles with his “Baby Cat” Osca, tracking the Jets and spending evenings watching NCIS. Bryan was known for chatty conversation, sense of wit and sharing life stories.
Bryan is survived by his loving wife, Susan Earl, dear brother-in-law Lloyd Earl, favourite cousins Jan Skene and Pat Judge of Arborg, many relatives in Ontario, good friends and neighbours. Bryan and Susan will always be thankful to Bryan’s cousin and Susan’s friend Audrey Nosworthy who invited Susan to a family social where Aunt Clara introduced Bryan to Susan leading to 42 years of love, happiness and cherished memories.
Thank you to Drs. E. Pilat, M. Nashed and A. Morsara for the dedicated care they provided to Bryan.
Cremation has taken place. A private family Celebration of Life will take place in the new year.
Should you wish, donations may be made in Bryan’s memory to CJNU Nostalgia Radio 93.7 FM or CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
