RENEE MAE TRAVERS Obituary

It is with great Sadness and immense Love that we gather to celebrate the life of our beautiful, loving, funny, caring, Mother, Wife, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt, Friend, Cousin, Neice, and Godmother, Renee.

Renee is now resting with our Grandmothers and Grandfathers and family and friends who fill the night sky with stars.

Renee lived life with laughter in her heart and a kindness in her soul, a great friend to many, Renee loved her friends and family with ferocity. If she loved you, you knew it! If she didn’t like you- you knew that too! Renee will be lovingly remembered by her children, Brandy, Chelsea, Roy Jr, and the love of her life, husband Roy Fisher Sr, her beloved grandchildren, her sisters Rhonda, Tricia, Chlista, her parents Bert and Dorothy, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and many friends.

Renee was born in Winnipeg, lived in Wabowden, Snowlake, Grand Rapids, Teulon, Winnipeg, and Kinonjeoshtegon. Renee loved music, attending concerts, dancing, watching movies, playing games and cards with her family, and especially loved daiquiris and margaritas.

Renee worked in many areas, receptionist, band councillor, chef, housekeeping personnel, and small business owner of food services, to name a few. Of everything, Renee loved to cook for her family and Renee’s laughter and food dishes will be missed at family gatherings (sadly, Renee is the only one of her sisters who can cook).

The Family would like to thank Health Sciences Centre MICU Nursing Staff, Kinonjeoshtegon Health Centre Staff, Kinonjeoshtegon Chief and Council, the Fire Keepers, and all the Friends and Family who have sent Love and Care and Compassionate wishes.

Poem by E.E Cummings

I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart)

I am never without it (anywhere i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)

I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet)

I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)

and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows

(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)
