Johanna Gurdibaniuk (née Wilhelm)

November 22, 1931 – October 27, 2025


It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Johanna Gurdibaniuk, who passed away peacefully at the age of 93 at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, MB.

Johanna was a woman with style and grace who loved to travel, sew and cook traditional Ukrainian and German dishes. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, John and Terry, Grandchildren whom she dearly loved and was extremely proud of; Jamie, Sarah, David (and wife Jessica), Quinn (and husband Stephen), and Aric, Great-Grandchildren whom she adored; Eva (Evie), William, Isabelle, Wyatt, Thomas, and Ivy.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, John (Iwan), Mother Agnes Wilhelm (nee Schreibe), Father Andreas Wilhelm, Brother Andel, Sisters Hedwig, Agnes, and Ingebord, and her Grandson Caelan.  

A Parastas memorial service will be held at St. Basil's Ukrainian Catholic Church at 202 Harcourt Street in Winnipeg on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at noon officiated by Father Mykhaylo Khomitskyy. Internment will follow at All Saints Cemetery at 4535 Main Street, West St. Paul. 


Johanna’s warmth, generosity, and loving spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
