Petar Muncan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Petar Muncan. Petar passed away at home, with his family by his side on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the age of 68 years.

He was predeceased by his mother Vladanka Muncan and his father Tomislav Muncan.

Petar is lovingly remembered by his wife, Svetlana, his children, Vicki (Steve), Biljana (Kyle) and his grandchildren Austin and Emma.

He also leaves his sister, Bozana and family, and numerous extended family members in Serbia.

Petar was born on December 16, 1956 in Belgrade, Serbia. He met his wife in Belgrade, Serbia in 1974 and they married in 1977. They were married for 48 years and had two daughters, Vicki and Biljana. They had an incredible marriage. Petar moved with his family to Canada in 1988 for a better life. His family was the most important thing in his life. Everything he did, he did it for his family. He was a provider and always made sure that his family had everything they needed.

Petar was an amazing man, a hard worker, and so sociable that everywhere he went, he made friends. He would help anyone in need. He would walk down the street and just start talking to people. Petar would always make you feel welcome and welcome everybody with open arms. He was the kindest person you could meet.

His biggest pride and joy were his two grandchildren, Austin and Emma. He was their Deda and he was so special to them. He would do anything for them. He also had a special bond with his son-in-law, Steve. Petar always called him his son.

His interests in life were luxury cars and brand name shoes. His favourite routine in the morning was to have coffee with his wife and talk about what they had planned for the day. He always made sure there was extra coffee in his thermos, to bring with him everywhere he went. He loved to travel to sunny destinations during the winter months and enjoyed a cup of coffee by the ocean.

Petar worked as a Baker at Costco on St. James for 33 years until he retired on June 13, 2024. He loved his job and his co-workers. They were a special part of his life. He always loved getting up in the morning and going to work. He never complained.

The pain is unimaginable. He will be forever missed and always be in our hearts.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, with Father Georgije Tubonjic presiding. Reception to follow afterwards at the Cropo Funeral Chapel.
