ALEXANDER KINDRAKA

March 6, 1929 - October 19, 2025

Alexander Kindraka passed away peacefully with family by his side at the St. Boniface Hospital on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the age of 96 years.

Alex was predeceased by his wife Sophie Kindraka (Stadnyk; 1979) and he is survived by his wife Margaret Kindraka (Shott).

Alex is predeceased by his parents Fred and Ann Kindrakavich, Katie Glova, Nellie Andrysiak, and Pauline Harrison.

Alex is lovingly remembered by his two daughters Cynthia Davey and Karen Kindraka; grand children Michele and Monica Davey; great-grandchildren Ava Lapointe, Sloane Neville, Nixon Neville and Beck McLachlan.

Alex was born in Birmingham, Saskatchewan on March 6,1929.  He attended Birmingham School, then moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba to attend a Business College. Then later in life he was transferred to Stoney Creek, Ontario where he retired. Alex came full circle by moving back to Winnipeg in March of this year to Riverwood Square Retirement Living.

Alex was known for his luscious lawn and flower beds. He was an active member within the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Vladimir in Hamilton, Ontario and the Rotary Club of Hamilton/Stoney Creek.

A Prayer Vigil will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 7:00 pm, Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 10:00, Cropo Funeral Chapel.  The Service will be livestreamed.  Link to follow.

The Very Rev. Archpriest Eugene Maximiuk officiating.  A luncheon will follow the service.

All are most welcome to join us at Glen Eden Cemetery, 4477 Main Street after the luncheon.
