Cynthia “Cindy” Bergen (Brown)

January 21, 1966 – June 17, 2025

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved Cynthia, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Cynthia was Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and moved out West to build her life and raise her family in Winnipeg. She never forgot her roots, staying connected to family in Glace Bay and often speaking proudly of her Scottish and Mi'kmaq roots.

Cynthia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and Great friend. She was known as a survivor. She was compassionate, genuine, authentic, and empathetic. She was incredibly funny, loving, outspoken, and endlessly generous. Cynthia was an incredible human being who dedicated over 30 years committed to providing the highest standard of care for children,  youth, and families through her work at Knowles Centre and Macdonald Youth Services.

Her strength, humor, and most importantly her faith in God, carried her through every season, always saying "I walk by faith". Cynthia was a selfless and dedicated single mother to her three children. She loved to laugh and spend time with friends and family. She loved to travel and she especially loved her dogs Rosco and Gizmo.

Cynthia is survived by siblings Gerald Brown, Robert Brown, Mark Brown, Michelle Boone (Brian) and Tanya Irvine (Cory). She will be missed by her nieces and nephews Jonathan, Albert, Dylan, Elaine, Derek, Jason, and Hanna

Cynthia will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ron, and her children Robert (Crystal), Keith (Nicole), and Jessica (Bryce). She leaves behind her beautiful grandchildren; Malia, Connor, Austin, Bailey, Jenna, Dexter, Charlie, and James.

She was loved by so many of us and touched so many of our lives. She will be remembered for her spark, her strength, and the love she gave so freely.
