EVELINE PROCURE

Eveline Procure passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the age of 71. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, remembered for her kindness, generosity, and strength.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 38 years, Larry Procure, daughter Angela (Marc) Spencer, and granddaughter Aurelia Spencer. She is also remembered by sisters Agnes (Gil) Dokken and Anni (Paul) Hopkins, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Eveline was predeceased by her parents, Christine and Adam, brother Herman, and sisters Margaret and Maggie.

Born on Sept 12th, 1954, in Germany, Eveline immigrated to Canada as a child and grew up in Winnipeg. Her adventurous spirit took her back to Germany in her late teens and later north to the Yukon in her 20’s.

In 1984, fate brought her together with Larry for a game of cards on a Train headed to BC. After a whirlwind meeting and cross-country reunion, the two became inseparable and married on August 15, 1987. In 1991, on Eveline’s 37th birthday, they welcomed their only daughter, Angela.

Settling in St. James, Eveline and Larry created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and an open door for anyone who needed it. Eveline loved to host—whether it was a big celebration or a simple get-together—and she was happiest when the people around her were smiling. She loved to travel, collecting memories from countless camping trips and vacations.

After retiring from a lifelong career in accounting, Eveline enjoyed a quieter life. Joining Larry on long-haul trips, finding more time to read the books she loved, visiting the North again, and spending cherished time with her granddaughter.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Altona Community Health Center staff for their kindness and care. A celebration of life will be held in the spring in honor of Eveline’s wishes.
