ROZALIA HORVATH

March 1, 1934 – October 8, 2025

On Wednesday, October 08, 2025 our beloved mother Rozalia (Rose) passed away in Winnipeg at the age of 91. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Rozalia (Jonathan) Garrett and granddaughters Hannah (Andrew) Daniels, Davina (Curtis) Briggs, Katarina Garrett and five great- grandchildren.

We are eternally grateful for Steve and Nanci Bell, for their friendship, care and support of Mom until her last breath; we also want to thank her faithful friends David and Kim, and Garry and Anna who helped her so much over the years.

Born in 1934 in Izsak Hungary, Rozalia immigrated to Canada in 1967, where she met and married her husband, Nick Horvath in 1972.  She brought her daughter to Canada when she was 16 years old.  Her incredible ability to focus on detail made her an outstanding art-mender, a person who can mend clothes so that one could not find where they were torn, and worked for a business for a while and then she worked for herself.  Rozalia loved to garden and cook her own food. She was known for her love of cooking and delighted in others enjoying her meals. Rozalia lost her husband in 1998 and lived alone independently and self-sufficiently for 27 years till her 89th birthday, when she moved into assisted living.  Quietness and rest characterized Rozalia; she was peaceful at heart and did not mind to be alone.  She will be greatly missed.

A private family interment will be held at Glen Eden Cemetery.
