MARY EVELYN BOYCHUK (nee Stadnyk)
January 6, 1948 – October 2, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Baba, sister, aunt and friend, Mary Evelyn Boychuk, on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the age of 77.
Mary was predeceased by her parents Peter and Anna Stadnyk; brothers William and Sylvester Stadnyk and sisters Katherine Stadnyk and Luba Drewniak.
Mary is survived by her loving husband Daniel of 59 years; her children Darryl (Pat), Dennis, Gerald (Jamie), Randy (Clarise) and grandchildren Denis (Amber), Kara, Carley, Kendra, Robyn (Brandon), Jadyn, Conner, Cali, Janelle and Jaxen and great-grandson Marcel. Mary leaves behind brothers Nick, Nestor (Cathy), Paul (Libby) and Jim (Sandra); sister Elsie; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Mary was born on a farm in Vita, MB on January 6, 1948, to Anna and Peter Stadnyk. She moved to the city as a teenager and on June 4, 1966 she married Daniel in Winnipeg. They built a home on Whellams Lane where they raised 4 boys and later built their forever home in East St. Paul.
Mary enjoyed going for coffee in the mornings to read the paper where she would often run into old acquaintances. She enjoyed baking for her grandchildren and spending time outside in her flowerbeds and garden. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom she took great pride and joy in. She attended many hockey games, baseball games, recitals and figure skating competitions alongside their other major milestones.
Mary will be greatly missed and has left us with many memories to cherish. We love you, Baba!
Funeral Rite will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral at 10:30 am, 1175 Main Street, Winnipeg. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St, West. St. Paul.
Memorial Donations may be made in Mary’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
