Dad was born on May 6th, 1945 in Santo Antonio, Azores. He married his life-long love Maria Helena on April 12th, 1970. They first immigrated to Thunder Bay, Canada in 1971. They returned to Portugal in 1983 where they lived until 1989 when they moved to Winnipeg, where Dad spent the remainder of his life.

Dad enjoyed spending his days outside in his garden. A talented gardener, he produced an abundance of potatoes, garlic and other veggies. Dad, always generous, made sure to give these to his family and friends. An avid soccer fan, he enjoyed cheering on his favourite team, Benfica, watching them play any chance he got. He particularly enjoyed spending his days with his 'Princesa" - his beloved dog Lulu, who was a huge comfort to him following the death of mom. We will forever remember his generous spirit and contagious laughter. We are heartbroken, but take solace that he is no longer suffering.
