Roma passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 89 years.


She was predeceased by her daughter Linda Paul; husband Ernest Paul; her father and mother; her brother Emile; sisters Lola, Mona and Rita.


Roma is lovingly remembered by her children Anne (Susie) Davidson (Gene), Debbie Paul and Claudette Paul; grand children Jennifer Davidson, Fawn Brisson (Andy), Stephanie Petrachek (Garth), Bryann Allan (Tyler); great grand-children Carmen Kotch, Dylan and Cody Danby, Journey and Harper Petrachek.  She also leaves her brothers Joseph (Ovila) Ducharme and Romeo (Linda); sister Anna Harrison and many nieces and nephews.


Roma was born in Winnipeg at St. Boniface Hospital, May 23, 1936.  She was raised in Richer, MB and later moved to Winnipeg.  She went to school at Earl Grey School and Lord Roberts School, and grew up with 7 siblings.  Roma married Ernie and they had 4 daughters.  She worked in the City of Winnipeg Public Works for 23 years until her retirement.


Roma enjoyed spending time with her daughters and their friends and welcomed them into her home.  She played a significant role in many of their childhood friends’ lives.  She was known as Mom Paul in the neighbourhood.  Roma also enjoyed going to the gym.


Roma had a love of animals and volunteered at Miracle Ranch.  She also loved spending time with her cats Mitzy, Lily and China as well as puppy Brandy.


The family would especially like to thank the Palliative Care St. Boniface Hospital and Arlene who cared for mom in her home for 4 years.


A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with Linda Ladobruk presiding.  Interment will follow at a later date.
