BRIAN THOMAS GLESBY

June 15th 1942 - August 15th 2025

Brian passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025 at home at the age of 83.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Shirley; his parents Morris and Rose; brothers Bill, Bob and Roy and sister in law Fran.

Brian is lovingly remembered by his children Guy (Janet), Ryan (Angie), Dereck (Denise); his grand children Rob, Riley, Brooklyn, Cole and Chad.

He also leaves behind family and friends, especially great friend Kathy Koss. Thank you Kathy, for everything you did for Brian.

Brian was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He grew up in the West Kildonan / North End areas. 

Brian met lifelong friends over the years who he remained in contact with.  He ran the Ballerina Flower Shop with his mom Rose for over 40 years. He had side businesses Brian’s Truck'n Stuff, Arbortech Pruning Services and of course Branch Managers Pruning Services which was his trademark. 

He met the love of his life Shirley, at Connie’s Snack Bar and they married in 1964. They raised 3 wonderful boys in their family home on Sly Drive.

Brian had a passion for Manitoba history, world history, politics and classic trucks, but his passion was his yard. Anyone who came to the house, would see the love and dedication he took in keeping the yard beautiful over the years. His health caused him to slow down, but it didn’t stop him from going out in the yard. 

This world lost a great man. 

Dad, Poppa Brian, Poppa G you were loved, and we miss you a lot.  We will carry on all your traditions. 

We would like to thank Dr. Sharma and Dr. Madhavan for the excellent care over the last few years.  Also the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and Winnipeg Police Service.

In memory of Brian the family asks you plant a tree, shrub or flowers to keep his memory alive. 

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday October 2, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the lower level hall of the Royal Canadian Legion at 215 Maxwell Drive, East St. Paul, MB.
