KURT RICHTER

April 18, 1943 – August 24, 2025

Kurt Richter passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 82 years.

Kurt will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years, Erna; his children, Martina (Greg), Anja (Ger), and Michelle (Mike) and his grandchildren, Cierra, Justin, Rebecca, Steffan, Katie (Jordan), Emma (Randy), Marie-Claude, Caleb, Ella and Logan. He will be missed by sisters-in-law Elfriede and Anna (Heinz); cousins Christa and Heinz, as well as his many nieces, nephews, cousins, wonderful friends and neighbors.

Kurt was born in Bremen, Germany, on April 18, 1943. He married Erna in 1965, and together they celebrated their 60th anniversary in March 2025. In 1971, Erna and Kurt moved their family to Winnipeg.

Kurt loved traveling, visiting family and friends in Germany, loved his cottage and spending time with family. He touched many lives, making friends everywhere he went. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and the many smiles he brought to others.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street, Winnipeg.
