SALLY MINSKY Obituary
SALLY MINSKY (Nee Krakalovich)
With heavy hearts we wish to announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Babka and Great Babka on Sunday, the day of our Lord; August 17, 2025, peacefully with her daughters by her side at the Grace Hospital.
Left to celebrate her life and cherish her memory are her pride and joy; her eldest daughter Cynthia (Paul Vincent); only son Bradley Minsky (Carmela Bergagnini) and “the baby” Crystal (Mate Radocaj), all of Winnipeg; 10 grandchildren; Bryce (Rhea), Haley (Rylee), Jarrod (Jenna), Teagan (Myles), Allyssa (Jason), Tyler, Ryan, Payton and Ryden, who she absolutely adored and 4 beautiful great-grandchildren, Olivia, Rowan, Novie and Theodore, all of whom she felt very blessed to have had the opportunity to meet.
Sally was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, William Minsky on August 25, 2015; parents and her 12 siblings, all of whom she mourned until her last breath.
Born in Pelly, Saskatchewan, Sally grew up on a farm in Arran, Saskatchewan. When Sally turned 18, she moved to Winnipeg to find work and be closer to her siblings.
It was at the Rainbow Dance Gardens in Winnipeg, on May 19, 1958, Sally met the love of her life, Bill Minsky. On July 24, 1959, they wed in Winnipeg and travelled back to Sally’s family farm for their reception in Arran, Saskatchewan. In August of 1960, Bill and Sally started their successful landscaping firm and shortly thereafter, their own family. Together, they built a life centered around God, filled with life, love and commitment to one another and their family.
Sally lived her life to the fullest and loved to have fun. She had a great sense of humour, enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, baking sewing, crocheting, fishing, camping, travelling and the casino, but most of all, giving to and care for her loved ones. Always concerned for and thinking about her husband and children; always putting their wants and needs first, she was a Godly and generous woman. It was hard to feel worthy of all she was and will always mean to us.
Prayers will be sung on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Avenue and Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with Fr. Hoi officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Honouring their Babka will be pallbearers Bryce and Jarrod Vincent, Ryan Minsky, Ryden Radocaj with current and future grandson in-laws Jason Sawatzky, Rylee Nepinak, Myles O’Toole, Trent Griffith and Joseph Grocholski.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations for mass in memory of Bill and Sally be made to Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R2X 0Z9.
