HEIDI ELFRIEDE SCHMIDT Obituary

HEIDI SCHMIDT

It is with great sadness that the family of Heidi Elfriede Schmidt (nee Weppler), of Winnipeg, Manitoba announces her passing on July 25, 2025 at Deer Lodge Centre.

She is survived by her daughter Diana Schmidt, son-in-law Stefan Grbavec, her sister Margret Hillius, her brother Charles Weppler, his wife Rita Weppler as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her son Lorenz Schmidt, her parents Karl and Else Weppler.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to D’Arcy’s A.R.C.

Heidi worked for years with Canada Post and established many lifelong relationships. As an avid sports fan, it was common to have extensive discussions regarding the latest football, hockey or other sporting event with her.  There was always a soft spot in her heart for the feathery or furry friends.  She would consistently look after family and friend’s pets. But what Heidi is most known for, is her love of all things gardening and gardens.

The family would like to thank the staff at Deere Lodge Centre Lodge 4 East for the excellent care they provided. At this time there will be no service.
