Rita Mary Lamb passed away on July 18, 2025 at Fred Douglas Lodge at the age of 81 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Leo in 1984 and Ethel in 2007.

Rita is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bill, children, Sandra, and Darrell, grandchildren, Felisha, Brandon, Ray, Miranda, Tim, Troy, Nicole and great grandchildren, Kylie, Ryder, Zaynin, Zander, Axel, and Ciara. She also leaves her sisters Allene and Bernadette, as well as Tracy and Kelly Falk and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family especially thanks Fred Douglas Lodge, Evergreen Wing, for their compassion and care of the family and our mother.

A memorial service will be held on July 23, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave. 

Rita was born on October 7, 1944 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She was the youngest of three girls. Her mom was of Irish descent and her father of German descent. She was a very athletic, vibrant girl with a lot of friends. In 1965, she married a military man named William (Bill). They had two kids: Sandra and Darrell. Rita raised the children on her own as Bill was away most of the time- deployed due to the military duty. The wife of military man was not always easy that way, and could be lonely at times, but Rita made it look easy due to the love she had for her family. 

She also found time to be active in the scouting community for 20 years as well as being a cub master to many young boys who learned a lot of valuable skills from her.

Her marriage was a very long, loving, and fulfilling one of 59 years and nine months, filled with travel and postings throughout Canada. She worked on the military base after giving up hairdressing once the kids were born as it was easier to find work on the bases. She became head waitress, and a government worker in the kitchen. Rita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, and aunt who will be missed.
