KEVIN ROBERT HORN Obituary

KEVIN HORN

January 13, 1957- July 3, 2025

With broken hearts we announce the passing of Kevin Horn at the age of 68 years.

Beloved dad to Angie (Lorin), Jason (Lisa); special papa to Olivia, Hartlyn and Kiptyn. Also left to mourn his passing; Sisters, Janet and Diane (Eugene); father-in-law, Aime Meilleur, and a large extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, our mom Paulette in 2011, to which his heart never recovered. Also preceding him, parents Thomas and Irene Horn; brother Brian and Sister Judy

Deering; brothers-in-law Larry Deering, Ron Clark and Georges Berard and mother-in-law Laura Meilleur.

Dad was a career electrician. One job that he was incredibly proud of was The Canadian Museum for Human Rights. From the backlit alabaster ramps to the 100-metre glass spire that you can see lit up as you cross the Provencher Bridge. His name is proudly displayed in the museum for his contribution.  He was a “foodie”. Dad loved good food and was a fabulous cook. So many amazing meals came from his kitchen. Classic rock was almost always blaring from his speakers. Travelling to warmer climates over our long winters was a must. Of all the places he travelled, Tobago was his number one destination. If it wasn’t for his unwavering love and devotion to his family, I’m certain he would have lived there permanently.

In keeping with Dad’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held later this summer.

“You belong among the wildflowers.

You belong in a boat out at sea.

Sail away, kill off the hours.

You belong somewhere you feel free”
